Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica)
Category: Industrial Weeds
Nettles (Urtica dioica) are rhizomatous to stoloniferous perennials, they are native on river banks, in hedgerows, woods, grassy places, near buildings and where the ground is littered with rubble and can quickly colonise neglected ground. Common nettles thrive in nitrogen rish ground and have tough yellow roots with creeping stems that root at the nodes.
